Hostel Accommodation
The Glebe Barn is a charming and characterful conversion of a 19th century building on the Island of Eigg in the Inner Hebrides. The accommodation has a relaxed and homely ambience with breathtaking views. Situated only one mile from the pier, where there is a licensed cafe/ restaurant, shop and craft shop, the Glebe Barn is ideally located for exploring the island.

The hostel sleeps up to 22 (twin room, two triple rooms, 6 bed dormitory and 8 bed dormitory), and there is a separate mezanine apartment which can be let in conjunction with the hostel, sleeping  2 people. 

The Glebe has a large lounge/dining area with solid maple floor, log fire, sound system and a small library and plenty of games and jigsaws for all ages. All the windows have fabulous panoramic views. The kitchen is superbly equipped with a large gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, blender etc and a separate pantry with ample storage for large groups.

A laundry room provides a commercial sized washing machine and tumble dryer. On the first floor there are three bedrooms of various sizes - one twin bedroom, one with 6 beds (3 bunks), and one 8 beds (4 bunks). Each room has its one wash basin, with shared toilets and showers (2 of each).

The top floor has two bedrooms, each with 3 single beds and a shared shower and toilet. An additional shower and 2 toilets (one equipped for disabled people) are located on the ground floor.

There is free wi-fi throughout the building. The building is fully central heated with hot showers and washing/drying facilities. Linen is provided but not towels.

Ideal accommodation for large groups. The large open plan lounge/dining area divided by a centrally located log fire has proved extremely versatile for the various groups, family groups and other special interest groups that have used the building over the years.

The Glebe provides an ideal venue for schools, universities and clubs; organisations wishing to host events, conferences, workshops and retreats; or simply meeting and holidaying with family or friends. The building is let as self catering, although full catering is available to groups by prior arrangement with our superb local catering team who provide delicious locally sourced, home cooked food.
