Set in Prosen, the most intimate of the Angus Glens, the Hostel is on the southernmost edge of the Cairngorms National Park, with easy access to the East Cairngorms footpath network. Two Munros, the Mayar and Driesh, link Glenprosen to the Cairngorms plateaux.
A "green" Hostel, the building is insulated throughout with Scottish sheep’s wool. The living room has a wood burning stove, internet connection, and raised lounge area for admiring the view through the huge windows. A drying room and laundering facilities complete the cosy welcome.
The nearby village hall is available for ceilidhs and parties, therefore to book the whole Hostel is an excellent choice for a family and friends get together or celebration. The Minister's Path leads over to Glen Clova, whilst a brand new footbridge and path alongside the prettiest stretch of the river Prosen connects via Backwater to Glenisla, and the Cateran trail, in Perthshire.
Directions From Kirriemuir follow signs to Glenprosen (B955). At Dykehead where the main road bears right, you fork left (signed Glenprosen). Carry on for 7 miles to Glenprosen village. The public road ends at a red telephone kiosk in the village; here you turn very sharp right and follow the tarmac up the hill approx. 150m till you reach the hostel.
